YETI podcast

BBC Radio 4’s podcast YETI features Marisa’s original music.

I used bass and treble recorders, violas, including electric viola for the sting (theme tune), violins, drum, bells, pianos and even a Tibetan sound bow!. All acoustic sounds were played by myself and my husband, Dan Cornford (viola/violin/drums). The bass recorder was left to me by my great aunt, Diana, who was an avid Radio 4 listener. She would have been thrilled to know that it appears in a podcast! I combined acoustic sounds with electronics, to represent awe, wonder and mystery. Does the yeti exist? The Time Project Part II -

What does time mean to you? Marisa is one of the selected artists who has co-created multi-art pieces answering this question as part of an initiative devised by www.inbetweenspacesplatform.com

Dancer/director: Caylia Wallace

Music composed by Marisa Cornford, violas by Dan Cornford.

This piece is entitled Time and in its entirety it features six viola lines. It experiments with shifting textures and layers where the opening pizzicato gradually becomes the accompaniment for the harmonics/legato lines as they switch places from foreground to background.
